Do I qualify for VAT exemption?
Many of the products on our website qualify for VAT exemption for qualifying customers.
To qualify for VAT exemption, the end user must be ‘chronically sick or disabled’, defined as follows:
- with a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out activities; or
- with a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes; or
- who is terminally ill.
Please note: This definition does not include a frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied, or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.
How do I claim VAT exemption?
At Checkout, below your address details, you will be asked to complete a short VAT exemption form to provide details of you eligibility:
- A brief description of the end user’s condition
- The end user’s name
The VAT will then be deducted prior to payment. Please note: the delivery charge will still be subject to VAT.

Please note: It is an offence to claim VAT exemption if you are not entitled to it, and the penalties for false claims are severe.
